The Benefits of Health Insurance
All things decay and break down, and nothing decays or breaks down more disastrously than the human body. When disaster strikes and a medical emergency is needed, your finances could be left in tatters with just one hospitalization bill. To protect your and your family’s finances, health insurance is still the best way.
Health insurance offers countless benefits, including coverage for preventative care and screenings. It can save you money in the long run through monthly premiums, instead of having to pay a mountainous hospital bill out of your own pocket. That’s why it is considered to be the smartest financial investments you can make.
Unfortunately, health insurance can be inaccessible to many Americans with limited budgets and pre-existing conditions insurance companies will refuse to cover. Thanks to legislative reforms like the Affordable Care Act, however, things have greatly improved in terms of coverage and access. Now people with pre-existing conditions cannot be denied insurance coverage and young adults can remain on their parents’ medical insurance until they’re 26.
Still, the current healthcare market is still chaotic and complicated. Not everyone knows what they need to know regarding coverage and health plans and insurance companies make it (purposefully) difficult to find out.
Fortunately, Golden Plan Choice can help! We empower to make smart decisions about your healthcare by giving you the right information on various healthcare plans, including Medicare. Our expert team will guide you every step of the way to get you the care you need.

Golden Plan Choice currently offers information on a variety of health insurance plans. This includes all parts of Medicare, including Medicare Part D, and bundled plans such as Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement. There is a late enrollment penalty if you enroll past the open enrollment period, so be sure not to wait too long!
Medicare is a federal program for people 65 years old and older. If you have been receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA), then you’ll be automatically enrolled once you turn 65. You’ll receive a sign-up form in the mail three months before your 65th birthday.
Medicare is split into Part A, B, and D. Part A, known as Hospital Insurance, covers inpatient stay, hospice care, and care in a skilled nursing facility. It can also cover some home healthcare services. Part B is Medical Insurance, which are preventative and medical services performed by doctors. It also covers medical supplies.
Medicare Part D covers the costs of prescription drugs. Depending on your plan, the entirety of the cost may not be covered, but it will at least cover some or most of it. Any shots or vaccines recommended by your doctor or healthcare professional will also be covered.
Part D is an optional plan under Original Medicare, which encompasses all of Part A and B. Part B includes an additional premium. However, if you’re really struggling to afford your prescription drugs, then this plan is highly recommended.
Other Plans
A plan that typically includes Medicare Part D is Medical Advantage, often called Medicare Part C. Medicare Advantage includes Parts A, B, and D. It covers routine dental and vision check-ups, as well as hearing care and hearing aids. Preventative care such as gym memberships and wellness programs are also covered.
If you or your loved one is having difficulty moving around the house, then Medicare Advantage also covers home modification services. These include grab bars, meal deliveries, and non-emergency transportation.
Another option is Medical Supplement, also known as “medigap” insurance. This type of insurance is used to cover what Original Medicare won’t typically cover, including Part D. It is also a guaranteed renewable, which means that your insurance company cannot drop you so long as you keep paying your premiums.
